Read the Bible in 90 Days (You Know You Wanna)

In less than a week I will start reading through the Bible in 90 days along with at least 400 other folks at Mom’s Toolbox. Come ooooonnnnn…join me!

Can you feel the peer pressure? Is it working yet?

I’m all geared up thanks to my holiday gifts…

An official Bible in 90 Days Bible, a Bible Marking Kit, and a Journal for my thoughts (because I can not be responsible for the whereabouts of my thoughts if they are not on paper…or on the internet).

“What should I do to get started?” Glad you asked. It’s easy. So easy, in fact, that I will use handy-dandy numbered bullets to further reinforce the simplicity of it all:

  1. Sign up HERE.
  2. Mom’s Toolbox will send you a welcome e-mail that you MUST respond to. Then you will be assigned to an accountability group. (Check your spam box, just in case!)
  3. Begin reading your daily Bible readings on January 3. Depending on your reading speed, it will take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour to complete each day. Don’t grimace! You can do it! It’s only 90 days! You don’t have to do it in one sitting, either. I plan to break it up into at least two sittings. If you are a commuter, I you could even listen while you drive because they have official audiobooks for each week! Wa-hoo!
  4. Every Monday, you will be asked to check in with your group through Mom’sToolbox with a comment. Note: if you are a lurker, here’s some super easy instructions on how to leave comments on blogs. Read  it, then start commenting on my blog. šŸ˜‰

That’s it! Four super-easy steps. I will be dedicating one post a week to what I’ve learned or how I’m struggling with ENJOYING my journey through the Bible. I’d love for you to stop by and share about your experience as well.

Listen…I am under no delusion that this will be easy. It will require sacrifice. I will probably be sacrificing sleep which is very valuable to me. Very valuable. But–I’m sorry–I just can’t sit back on my hind parts anymore. This is important. I need to do it.

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed (<–GOD’S WORD) belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.”                                                     –Deuteronomy 29:29

Please? Pretty, pretty, pretty puleeeeze with sugar on top join me? There’s strength in numbers…and maybe even in Numbers, too! šŸ™‚

Sorry, I’m a bit of a commitment-phobe when it comes to these things. Very specific goals make me just sick to my stomach. Terrible, right? But I’ll be looking forward to hearing about your own progress. šŸ™‚

I know…I’m actually secretly freaking out on the inside, that’s why I keep writing about it. There are a couple of ladies here in town who are wanting to read with me, and I hope they do because I’m scared that I’m gonna end up as a big, fat pile of failure. šŸ˜¦

      I think I can…I think I can…

  2. Carrie Hernandez says:

Okay, already! You have to hold me accountable, because you know how much I value SLEEP!
